Overview
The Chemistry Education Study Program has been granted a “Good” accreditation, as stated in the decree 1361/SK/BAN-PT/Akred-PMT/S/III/2022. As part of the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training (FKIP) at Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR), this program is designed to produce educators who are competent in chemistry education and possess excellent teaching skills.
The curriculum provides a deep understanding of core chemistry concepts, and focuses on LABIRIN, a fun, interactive, and unique chemistry learning method. It also includes the application of technology in education, and training for the Chemistry Olympiad based on UNPAR’s SINDU values and Ethical Principles. Students will gain practical skills in the laboratory, conduct research in chemistry education, and get hands-on teaching experience through a field practice program.
Graduates of this program are expected to become high-quality educators who can apply the LABIRIN method in chemistry; coaches for the Chemistry Olympiad at the secondary school level; researchers who can solve problems in chemistry education; entrepreneurs in the field of chemistry education; and education consultants.

Targets
Graduates of the Chemistry Education program are expected to:

Possess a strong foundation in educational science (pedagogy) to be able to teach chemistry using the LABIRIN (Fun, Interactive, and Unique Learning) Approach.

Have a solid grasp of chemistry, mathematics, computation, and instrumentation, and be able to apply them to solve real-world problems.

Be capable of lifelong, independent learning.

Be able to collaborate with others and effectively communicate their work, both orally and in writing.

Uphold high moral and ethical standards, and demonstrate social sensitivity as outlined in the spirituality and basic values of Parahyangan Catholic University (SINDU).
