Bachelor of Physics Education

Overview

The Physics Education Study Program is a study program that covers the science of physics and its application in the context of education and teaching. Students in the Physics Education Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Parahyangan Catholic University, are expected to acquire in-depth knowledge and skills regarding the theoretical, practical, and pedagogical aspects of the science of physics.

Academic Focus

The focus areas for teaching, research, and community service in the Physics Education Study Program at Parahyangan Catholic University include:

1. Physics Teaching with the LABIRIN (Fun, Interactive, and Unique Learning) Approach: Organizing physics learning that is fun, interactive, and unique through creative approaches to enhance students’ understanding and interest in learning.
2. Application of Physics in Practical Contexts: Integrating mathematical principles into various practical applications that can be directly applied in teaching and educational technology.
3. Physics Olympiad Teacher Education: Educating physics teachers who are capable of creating, solving, and teaching physics olympiad problems at both national and international levels.

Vision

To become a humanum academic community in the field of Physics Education that develops local potential up to the global level for the sake of improving human dignity and the integrity of creation.

Mission

1. To conduct quality, humanum-based learning with the LABIRIN (Fun, Interactive, and Unique Learning) Approach in the field of Physics Education.
2. To develop quality research to solve problems in Physics Education.
3. To carry out community service in the field of Physics Education to develop local potential up to the global level.

Objectives

1. To produce superior graduates who:
   1. Embody the Fundamental Values and Ethical Principles of UNPAR, possess 21st-century skills and literacy abilities;
   2. Are able to educate using fun, interactive, and unique learning;
   3. Are capable of coaching Physics Olympiads;
   4. Are ready to serve for the advancement of education in Indonesia.

Targets

Physics Education students are expected to:

1. Possess a proficient foundation in educational science (pedagogy) so that they can teach the science of physics in a fun, interactive, and unique way.
2. Possess a good foundation in the science of physics, mathematics, computation, and instrumentation so that they can apply them to various real-world problems.
3. Be able to engage in lifelong self-directed learning.
4. Be able to work collaboratively with others and communicate the work results effectively, both orally and in writing.
5. Uphold morals and ethics and possess social sensitivity embodied in the spirituality and basic values of Parahyangan Catholic University (SINDU).
6. Be able to create independent ventures to meet their life needs by utilizing their pedagogical abilities and knowledge of physics.
