B.Ed. Physics Education

The Bachelor of Education in Physics prepares future educators to lead innovative physics learning in schools and beyond. Rooted in LABIRIN-based learning (pembeLAjaran BerbasIs seRu, Interaktif, dan uNik) and develop research addressing physics teaching challenges. It aims to graduate educators who embody 21st-century skills and can coach physics olympiads.

Designed for full-time study over 8 semesters (144 CSU ≈ 240 ECTS), this programme develops graduates who are not only physics teachers, but also Olympiad coaches and edu-entrepreneurs capable of designing impactful learning experiences.

Programme Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

The 13 PLOs span Attitudes, General Competencies, Specific Competencies, and Knowledge (TPACK), ensuring holistic professional formation:

  • Practice the spirituality and fundamental values of Parahyangan Catholic University (SINDU), faith in God, and loyalty to Pancasila.
  • Internalise the spirit of independence, perseverance, and entrepreneurship; take responsibility for professional tasks individually and in groups.
  • Communicate ideas systematically and creatively; perform effectively both independently and in interdisciplinary settings.
  • Evaluate scientific and artistic works interdisciplinarily based on verum–bonum– pulchrum.
  • Apply logical, critical, creative, and innovative thinking to solve scientific problems; manage self‑learning; communicate effectively; and make ethical decisions that respect human values.
  • Apply pedagogical concepts, conduct physics teaching, and develop learning tools based on instructional‑design principles and technological developments while practising 21st‑century skills.
  • Apply critical and creative thinking to develop effective problem‑solving strategies for learning physics concepts.
  • Use research skills to solve problems and improve the quality of physics learning through classroom research.
  • Manage resources and make strategic decisions related to classrooms, physics laboratories, and educational institutions.
  • Integrate Technology, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge (TPACK) for effective, contextual physics learning.
  • Master physics and related science concepts comprehensively and creatively by utilising mathematics.
  • Apply research methodologies to improve the quality of physics learning in schools and to solve problems in physics education.
  • Master management and entrepreneurship theories in education, leveraging information and communication technology.

Teacher competence is primarily strengthened through Pedagogy (PLO-06) and TPACK (PLO-10), while Olympiad coaching excellence is built through deep physics mastery (PLO-11).

The programme learning outcomes are aligned with the Accreditation in Engineering Computer Sciencies Natural Sciences Mathematics (ASIIN), relevance and quality. The Physics Education programme empowers students to transform physics learning into an engaging, research-driven, and technology-enhanced experience. Graduates are equipped to inspire learners, lead innovation in classrooms, and contribute to the advancement of physics education.
